How to Apply…

Some sessions require an application while others have open enrollment. This page is for those sessions that require an application process.

For those sessions that require an application, we use a rolling admission system. We will notify you of your acceptance within three weeks of your submission. Upon acceptance, we will direct you with next steps to complete your registration.

Film Production

Steps to Follow:

  • Headshot and resume (if you have trouble uploading them in the online form).
  • The link to your video submission.

TAP Advanced

Steps to Follow:

  2. Submit links to your audition video(s) and letter of recommendation with your application.
  3. Email the following to ginger@texasartsproject.com with the subject line “TAPAdv_[your first and last name]:”
  • Headshot and resume (if you have trouble uploading them in the online form).
  • A list of your current audition songs and monologues. This is extremely important as the faculty uses these video submissions to choose material prior to the start of camp.
  • The link to your video submission. (see details based on program below)

Acting Majors
Present two contrasting mono­logues, each approx­i­mately two minutes in length and one 32 bar cut of a musical theatre song (optional). Your mono­logue selec­tions should be char­acters from pub­lished plays. We are looking for evi­dence of a true under­standing of both the char­acter and full context of the mono­logue. We are looking for nat­u­ralness and honesty. Please, no cos­tumes or clips from pre­vious performances.

Musical Theatre Majors
Present two con­trasting 32 bar cuts from musical theatre reper­toire and one 1-2 minute mono­logue from a pub­lished play. Be sure one song is up-tempo and the other is a ballad. Additionally, one must have been written before 1965, and the other after 1965. Songs must be per­formed with a piano accom­panist or an accom­pa­niment tape. No a capella. We are looking for natural and honest per­formers. Please, no costume and no clips from pre­vious performances.

 

Junior Camp 2- Intermediate/Advanced

  • Headshot and resume (if you have trouble uploading them in the online form).
  • A list of your current audition songs and monologues. This is extremely important as the faculty uses these video submissions to choose material prior to the start of camp.
  • The link to your video submission. (see video details below)

Include one or more of the following, with each portion under two minutes in length. (1) A dance combination from a recital (2) A video of a floor combination typically done in one of your dance classes (3) An acting monologue from a play or musical (4) A song performance from musical theatre literature. Use an accompaniment tape or a live accompanist. A capella is strongly discouraged.
